UPDATE: Hunter Biden is back in West Hollywood following his conviction this week. TMZ reported that Biden and his wife dined at Dan Tana’s before attending a film screening with Sean Penn in Hollywood.
Closing arguments are under way in the trial of Hunter Biden, the son of President Joe Biden, who is accused of concealing a drug addiction on federal forms in order to purchase a revolver, which he unlawfully owned for 11 days in October 2018.
Court testimonies have provided trial watchers with a sordid trip down memory lane of the younger Biden’s drug-fueled party days in West Hollywood in the late 2010s.
Zoe Kestan, a former stripper who became Biden’s girlfriend, recalled on the stand the couple’s stay in a bungalow at the Chateau Marmont, where drug dealers would enter through a private entrance and Biden searched the internet for tutorials on how to cook cocaine into crack.
“I became absurdly good at (cooking crack),” Hunter wrote in his memoir Beautiful Things. “Guess that 172 on my LSAT counted for something. … I didn’t leave the Chateau’s lush hillside grounds for a week or more at a time. I cooked and smoked, cooked and smoked.”
“He would want to smoke as soon as he woke up,” Kestan told jurors.
Desperation often led him to scour the room’s rugs for leftovers.
“Half the time I had no idea what I was picking up: Is this a flake of Parmasan from the cheese platter we ordered last night? Or crack?” Biden wrote. “It didn’t matter: I smoked it. If it was crack, great. If it wasn’t, I’d take a hit, exhale, and exclaim: ‘Shit, that’s not it—that’s the fucking cheese!'”
Biden also met his current wife, Melissa Cohen Biden, in West Hollywood.
He had just been kicked out of the lux Petit Ermitage on Cynthia Street but was still hanging out by the pool and smoking crack when friends gave him Melissa’s number. The next night, Hunter and Melissa hooked up at the Sunset Marquis.
Biden’s tour de WeHo also included stays at the Sunset Tower, the Standard (now closed) and the Jeremy (now the 1 Hotel).
If convicted, Biden could face up to 25 years in prison. Additionally, he has tax charges pending in a separate trial scheduled for September. Last summer, the 54-year-old appeared close to resolving both issues and avoiding prison through a plea agreement with prosecutors. However, the agreement fell apart in court, and the prosecutor heading the federal investigation subsequently indicted him on the gun charges.
President Biden has vehemently denied all of the accusations against his son, dismissing them as a witchhunt by the GOP.

These gun charges against Hunter are like you or me having to pay a speeding ticket with no mention that we ran down and killed two people when we did it. His influence peddling with Ukraine (and others) and his dealings with the Chinese Communist Party, all for cash and against the best interest of his own country, are being slow-walked by the DOJ to run out the statute of limitations, and with a complicit press we will likely never see Hunter have to answer for any of this. Brandon, please cite a source for this statement. Biden has been VERY vocal about not getting involved with this trial and only said he loves his son no matter what the outcome is. He has publicly stated he won’t pardon him if there is a conviction either.
