CicLAvia—Meet the Hollywoods Presented by Metro will occur on Sunday, August 18, 2024. On this day, the City of West Hollywood and the neighborhoods of Hollywood and East Hollywood in Los Angeles will become car-free open streets.
From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., the event will extend from the Hollywood Walk of Fame to West Hollywood’s inclusive pride crosswalks, inviting everyone to walk, bike, roll, and stroll through the area’s most iconic streets. Santa Monica Boulevard, from N. La Brea Avenue to N. San Vicente Boulevard, will be closed to vehicle traffic, making way for thousands of cyclists.
CicLAvia, a nonprofit organization, promotes vibrant public spaces, active transportation, and good health through car-free streets. Inspired by Bogotá’s ciclovía, CicLAvia temporarily shuts down streets to car traffic, transforming them into public parks. This free event connects communities across Los Angeles County, providing a safe space to bike, walk, skate, roll, and dance. CicLAvia is the largest open streets event in the United States, with 1.6 million participants to date.
