An Asian woman was attacked by two black men in a brazen robbery attempt this afternoon mere feet from West Hollywood city limits, according to police dispatch.
The men pulled up to 8268 Waring Avenue, near Harper Avenue, around 5 p.m. Monday in a black matte older model BMW with a silver bumper. One of them exited the vehicle and tried to steal the victim’s backpack, dragging her across the street.
They were unsuccessful, however, and fled the scene without the backpack.

I failed to comprehend why this publication consistently lists the race of the participants, when it is a relevant to the story. Please do better.
We report everything that is discussed in the police dispatches. The race of the participants is always noted by law enforcement, and in cases where authorities are still pursuing suspects, it is in the public’s interest for us to describe their race and appearance.
But, but, but…oh, never mind. (But this happened at 5 p.m.?!? Yep, the minimal punishment for crime is making the criminals bolder than ever.)

If the city had a police force with a police chief and crime was this rampant they would no doubt remove the chief.
Since the city only has a pubic safety director who oversees part time mall cops, they won’t be removed. Instead they’ll probably get an award for jailing political signs. This guy is in way over his head.
