33 Taps sports bar will replace Stache in WeHo

33 Taps, a neighborhood sports bar with locations in Silver Lake, Culver City, and Downtown Los Angeles, will open a new location in West Hollywood’s Rainbow District this September. The new outpost (located at 8941 Santa Monica Blvd, formerly home to Stache) will span 2,400 square feet and feature outdoor dining and nightly events such as trivia and bingo.

Ryan Floyd, CEO and founder of 33 Taps, noted that the expansion into West Hollywood fills a geographical gap between their existing locations. The new location will accommodate up to 120 patrons and will include a centralized main bar, booth seating, and an outdoor patio. The bar will feature a jumbotron and more than a dozen individual TVs.

33 Taps West Hollywood will serve 33 beers and house-kegged cocktails on tap, along with food items including brunch, handcrafted burgers, wings, and tacos. The bar will offer daily programming, including happy hours, trivia nights, sports-related activities, and late-night food service until 11 p.m. on weekdays and 12 a.m. on weekends.

33 Taps is queer-owned-and-operated and will host queer-focused events, supporting West Hollywood’s LGBTQ+ community.

I don’t care who is there as long as they tip me. Over the years, as an Uber driver I must have driven workers there no less than a dozen times. Not a single tip. They work there and work for tips. One bartender was telling me on a Saturday night he makes 500 bucks and yet I drive my car and take crazy chances with my life and I’m lucky if I make a hundred bucks. Between the politically connected people running the Rideshare companies ripping off the drivers and the complete indifference of the average worker towards other… Read more »

Al-rightly then.At least the space will not become another vacant commercial storefront.Best of luck to the new location.

As long as it’s QUEER owned and operated, I’m good. (Lisa Vanderpump: get out).

I couldn’t care less who owns an operates the place. I would just like a business that benefits the community. Inclusive means everyone.

I wonder how many yr lease stache had? This seems to be a last ditch effort to flip it into their other brand ’33 taps’ before they get screwed with owing $$ for a broken lease…

Well…It’s another outpost of an already successful chain of bars, so that gives it an advantage, it’s a concept that people like. But I still would have gone with an out and out dive bar, or as divey as West Hollywood gets these days there, no food service at all. Places like Stache or St. Felix were still trying to be too much as restaurants, which is more of a gamble. This place also leads with beers in a vodka & soda dominant part of town. Just get people drunk on the cheap like The Bayou & Motherlode and there’s… Read more »

Liquor licenses these days come with Conditional Use Permits (CUPs) that typically require food service and in some cases minimum percentage of income food vs alcohol derived.

It’s the rare old-school bar that has just a liquor license with no or few other conditions imposed.

A chain?? Oh no it is! We’re being McDonaldized! You can get that anyplace. Only weho has The Abbey, Barneys Beanery, Numbers, Greenblats Deli, The Factory. Some of those things are dead now we can’t afford to lose any more of Weho’s “Mojo” the things that make it special. An what kind of genius biz plan does this chain have that Stache didn’t?

Perfect business for this location. Their Silverlake location is a lot fun. Welcome.

He owned Stache too. So basically this is just giving the space a new concept..one that mirrors his other bar in Silverlake. How well is a sports bar going to do nextdoor to ANOTHER sports bar…HiTops?! Wish it were going to be just a casual restaurant…with a bar. Something that we no longer have much of in West Hollywood…espcially in the “rainbow district.”

From my observations over the years, a great deal of patrons only pretend to care about the sports

You mean a casual restaurant like Cafe D’Etoile? Wouldn’t that be nice again.

That would so wonderful. I’ve started going to Coucou at Santa Monica Bl and Nemo Street. Great food, nice patio and bar. Echos of Cafe D’Etoile.

whether it’s drag or sports bars…when the gays latch on to something…they always go to the extreme. I mean, how many sports bars does a 1/2 mile stretch of SMB need? We’ll find out. Ryan Floyd may need to come up with concept #3.
