Olympics delegation returns from Paris

Mayor John M. Erickson, Supervisor Lindsey Horvath and other L.A. County elected officials spent last week in Paris as part of a delegation trying to establish a WeHo “Pride House” for the 2028 Olympics. The event was hosted by Pride House Paris on August 9.

Pride House LA-West Hollywood is spearheaded by the Out Athlete Fund, a California-based nonprofit that supports LGBTQ+ athletes. Their goal is to provide resources for these athletes to compete at high levels and to create a welcoming space for LGBTQ+ athletes and fans during the Olympic games.

The Paris event featured remarks from Alex Soejarto, president of Out Athlete Fund.

“Hosting Pride House in West Hollywood for the 2028 Olympics and Paralympics presents tremendous opportunities for the LGBTQ+ community,” Soejarto said.

He noted the early involvement of community and business leaders in supporting LGBTQ+ athletes.

Also on the trip were Los Angeles County Supervisors Janice Hahn and Hilda Solis; former West Hollywood Mayor John D’Amico; Paris Deputy Mayor Frédéric Hocquard; and athletes like Greg Louganis, Ian Thorpe, Matthew Mitcham, and Javier Raya.

Erickson highlighted West Hollywood’s role as a center for LGBTQ+ activism and culture, expressing enthusiasm about hosting Pride House in 2028.

“The center of LGBTQ+ activism and a hub of culture, creativity, music, and inclusivity, I look forward to welcoming the world to experience Pride House in West Hollywood,” Erickson said.

Erickson’s taxpayer-funded trip raised eyebrows when it was announced last spring. City Council has taken steps this year to set clearer travel parameters and rein in expenses.

Cue the attempts to speak French, by both lovers and haters of everyone mentioned above.

What a joke! Collection of man hating women. Oh, I forgot that Dr JE was there. The woke pronoun schleppers representing LA county and paid for by taxpayers.

I’m ok with the Mayor of the city of Los Angeles being there, all the rest are greedy selfish hypocrites out for a free luxury vacation at taxpayer expense. Meanwhile, we can’t get urine and feces cleaned up from the public sidewalks from the homeless vagrant problems the Lindsey Horvaths of the world created and made worse. Hey John Erickson, did you get to travel business class, courtesy of landlords who pay taxes?
