Are you ready to shape the future of West Hollywood? The is city now accepting applications for the Fall 2024 Civic Leadership Academy, a program which shows residents the who, what and why behind city policies and operations.

The WeHo Civic Leadership Academy is a unique multi-session program that provides community members with an in-depth understanding of how their municipal government operates and delivers services while empowering them to advance community priorities and shape the future of local governance. Each week, attendees will interact with leaders within the WeHo government and our community service partners, while working closely with and learning from like-minded peers.

West Hollywood provides a broad array of programs and services to its constituents. Sessions will feature workshops, roundtables, lectures, networking opportunities, tours, and Q&A segments. Refreshments will be provided. Session topics are subject to change from what is shown below.

Responding to a strong community desire for more insight into city operations and civic processes, City Council directed the creation of the Civic Leadership Academy in 2019. This initiative is built upon open discussions and knowledge-sharing to empower an informed, involved and engaged community.

The program is open to:

  • West Hollywood residents or employees

  • Recipients or providers of City services

Priority will be given to current board or commission appointees, and City residents in that order. Participants must be 18 years or older by the first Academy session and must commit to attending a minimum of nine program sessions.
