WeHo ranked third on Grindr’s list of ‘gayest gayborhoods’

West Hollywood has been ranked the third “gayest gayborhood of the year” by Grindr in its annual “Grindr Unwrapped” report. The report places WeHo behind Soho in London and Chueca in Madrid, while San Francisco’s Castro neighborhood and Paris’ Le Marais round out the top five.

WeHo’s reputation as a gay village and bastion of LGBTQ culture has declined in recent years as more heterosexuals have patronized the Rainbow District’s famed gay bars, participated in Pride celebrations and established residence in the city. Grindr’s headquarters are located in West Hollywood’s Pacific Design Center.

The report also highlighted the United States as the third highest-ranking country for tops, behind Jordan and Greece, with Singapore and Peru rounding out the top five. South Africa led the global ranking of bottoms, followed by South Korea, Japan, Vietnam, and Denmark.

The U.S. also topped the list of “countries who love nudes,” with Finland, Australia, Canada, and Norway completing the top five. Popular tags on the app included “trans,” the second most searched, following “hung.” Other top tags were “bb” (bareback), dom, and feet.

Ahh Grindr, the app so loathed half its employees quit when forced to return to work. Grindr doesn’t want you to find Mr. Right because they you would not go on Grindr. The guy who founded it practically married his cat.

You left out East Hollywood having the most “blocked” users on the planet.

Grindr likes horrible profiles that you have to block because you will eventually run out of “free” blocks and have to pay for blocks.
