Caroline Nagy, a 2024 WeHo Artist Grant recipient, will present the culmination of her project, “Melomaniacs: The Improvised Journeys of Independent Musicians,” with a final presentation and concert on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at the WeHo City Council Chambers Theater. This free community event aims to spotlight the stories and musicianship of independent artists living and working in West Hollywood.
The evening will feature a mix of arts research, advocacy, and live performance. The program begins at 7 p.m. with a welcome and an introduction to “Melomaniacs.” A panel discussion titled “Please Stop Asking Me What My Day Job Is” will follow, exploring themes of authenticity and legitimacy as career musicians. The event concludes with a musical performance and an after-party nearby.
The event’s featured artists include violinist Nora Germain, conductor Ernest Harrison, vocalist Keri Kelsey, bassist Lyman Medeiros, composer Phil Popham, flutist Sarah Robinson, and singer-songwriter “whatever mike.”
“Melomaniacs” is fiscally sponsored by Fulcrum Arts and supported by an arts grant from the City of West Hollywood. Tickets are free but required for entry. For more information or to reserve tickets, visit Eventbrite.
