The City of West Hollywood is excited to announce the upcoming Spring session of its Civic Leadership Academy, set to kick off on April 9, 2025, and wrap up on June 11, 2025. This popular program, which first launched in Spring 2024, gives locals a chance to peek behind the curtain of the city’s daily operations and decision-making processes.

Due to high demand from residents wanting to learn more about how their city ticks, West Hollywood created this multi-week academy. Each session brings together around 25 participants for an insider’s look at how local government works and provides services. The goal? To equip community members with the knowledge and tools they need to make a real impact on the issues they care about and help shape West Hollywood’s future.

The Spring 2025 Academy will feature weekly in-person classes held right in West Hollywood, complete with refreshments at every meeting. Spots are limited, so interested folks should head to www.engage.weho.org/leadershipacademy ASAP to apply and get more details. Applications are accepted first-come, first-served.

Through workshops, roundtable chats, lectures, tours, and networking, participants will get the full scoop on the who’s, what’s, and why’s of city policies straight from City leaders, staff, and community partners. Each session includes a Q&A and plenty of open discussion to keep everyone informed and engaged. Attendees will also collaborate with their fellow cohort members throughout the program.

The Academy welcomes all kinds of community members—residents, workers, appointed officials, City employees, you name it. Anyone who attends at least eight sessions will earn a Certificate of Completion to recognize their commitment to civic life in West Hollywood.
