Streets Shut Down from 4 a.m. to 2 p.m. to Cheer On Runners

The City of West Hollywood is gearing up to welcome thousands of runners for the 2025 Los Angeles Marathon Presented by ASICS on Sunday, March 16. Now in its 40th year, this 26.2-mile “Stadium to the Stars” race kicks off at Dodger Stadium and wraps up at Century Park in Century City, with West Hollywood playing its part between miles 14 and 15.

Participants will zip through town on Sunset Boulevard, N. San Vicente Boulevard, Santa Monica Boulevard, and N. Doheny Drive before crossing into Beverly Hills. To keep everyone safe, the city will close several streets from 4 a.m. to 2 p.m. on race day, reopening them as soon as the pack moves through. Expect closures on:

  • Sunset Boulevard from Marmont Lane to Clark Street/N. San Vicente Boulevard
  • N. San Vicente Boulevard from Sunset Boulevard to Melrose Avenue
  • Santa Monica Boulevard from La Cienega Boulevard to N. Doheny Drive
  • N. Doheny Drive from Santa Monica Boulevard to Beverly Boulevard

Parking along the route will be restricted, with “No Parking” signs going up early, and crews will tow violators at the owner’s expense.

Spectators and locals hunting for parking can check the City of West Hollywood’s website for a list of lots and garages, complete with hours and rates. Better yet, carpool, hop on a bus, or grab a rideshare to dodge the hassle.

Who is writing the copy now days? Why is everything written with familiarity? With a bent toward humor and many times in the first person? Huh? Wehoonline once was a news service, not a kitchy coffee clutch. Now it goes 3 -weeks with the same stories and no new content. Something is wrong, bring back Larry and Brandon. Bring in a dictionary, spell check and some journalistic integrity.
