A three-car collision slowed traffic in West Hollywood late Sunday afternoon near 1233 N. La Brea Avenue at Fountain, just outside the Ralph’s grocery store.
The crash happened around 4:30 p.m., according to a 911 call. Deputies from the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station responded and directed traffic as cars were moved off the street. WEHOOnline confirmed no injuries were reported and the cause of the crash has not been released.
The incident comes just days after a hit-and-run last Thursday night on Santa Monica Boulevard near North Poinsettia Place, in front of Trader Joe’s. First responders arrived at that scene around 8 p.m., finding a pedestrian injured. The driver fled and remains at large. Authorities have not shared updates on the victim’s condition, and the investigation is ongoing.
The West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station continues to urge anyone with information about the hit-and-run to contact Detectives at (310) 855-8850.
According to recent sheriff’s data, collisions involving pedestrians and cyclists remain a persistent issue in West Hollywood.
Sunday’s crash at La Brea and Fountain adds to a growing list of local traffic incidents this fall, reinforcing what many of us already know: navigating WeHo’s busiest streets requires patience, vigilance, and luck.
Many, many drivers at that intersection completely ignore the NO RIGHT TURN ON RED signs on BOTH Fountain AND La Brea. Could that be contributing to the problem?
Bring back the red light cameras!!!
I guess now we have to make La Brea a bike lane street.
Even SNL made fun of that this week.
Accidents happen because of rude and aggressive drivers and a lack of law enforcement. I have never seen a car pulled over for speeding or running a red light in 30 years of living in West Hollywood.
We stopped doing that because the woke council decided it was racist to enforce traffic law
I’ve certainly seen cars pulled over in WeHo many times. I have no idea why, nor would you.
EXACTLY. Don’t destroy thoroughfares. Make them enforce speed limits instead.
Unfortunately accidents will happen, Happy to hear nobody was injured or left the scene. The concept that West Hollywood is working towards a vision zero plan is great but reality is it is very difficult to achieve with so many variables in the mix
