Bottega Louie announced Monday that they would be closing up shop for “a few days” as COVID cases surge across Southern California.
Los Angeles County continues to see a resurgence in the COVID-19 pandemic that has seen local case rates and hospitalizations skyrocket — with the latest numbers showing another 1,635 cases and four additional deaths.
Sunday was the 10th consecutive day that at least 1,000 new cases were reported.
The figures — which brought the county’s totals to 1,267,860 cases and 24,583 fatalities since the pandemic began — likely reflect reporting delays over the weekend, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health.
The number of people hospitalized in Los Angeles County due to the virus jumped from 507 on Saturday to 528, while the number of those patients in intensive care rose from 103 to 112, according to state figures.
Additional reporting by City News Service
Other news outlets said it was a breakthrough case of an employee who WAS vaccinated. I have my doubts, as fifty percent of the residents in LA County (have chosen at this point) not to be vaccinated.
Rather than speculating, it seems Bottega Louie has a responsibility to the community to be forthcoming about their issue. Who is it that can compel them to do so.? All the endless prattle from the council members was meaningless as they did little in the first round to get ahead of what could becoming a continuing runaway train.
In hindsight it seems that the architect of most of the good sense measures of moratoriums, fixes and strategy came from the City Manager…..and now he is gone….with others trying to assume credit.
Nice. Now we have to take a test since we were there on Sunday. No one closes their business indefinitely out of the goodness of their heart unless there’s an outbreak in-house.
I don’t believe the voluntary “abundance of caution” thing for a second. Nobody closes their business for the greater good. The County guidelines are if your staff develops multiple cases of infection you have to report it. If the situation is serious enough the County will close you down. That’s probably what happened. It’s to protect the public and the staff. Everyone must be tested and if necessary isolated.
Totally agree here. They likely had a staff outbreak of Covid.
I was thinking the same thing.
I don’t understand what a few days will tell them. To add a few days more after that, and a few after that? Unless they have other issues happening at the moment.
Los Angeles County is so poorly won by those dreary boring idiotic all women supervisors it’s pathetic.
Los Angeles county has a population of 10,000 Plus. This great big so-called surge, means we are inconvenience by a lot of bureaucrats who couldn’t get a job in the regular economy. The information the head of health sent out is so poorly written it’s over the top and needs grammarly right away.
It’s time to vote every one of these work morons out of office. Including not putting that dreadful Lindsey Horvath on the LA county board of supervisors.
The surges are always exponential. It’s really sad some people still don’t understand this after a year and a half of the pandemic.
“The information the head of health sent out is so poorly written it’s over the top and needs grammarly right away.”
^^^Oh, the irony of this sentence. Those who live in glass houses should not throw stones.
Bless us all, but all of my own contacts with government people over long years also shows that they are fine folks but clearly C students that, yes, couldn’t get a job in the regular world.
Willing and highly paid sheep.
With all due respects to perfectly industrious and straightforward sheep.
What does “all women supervisors” have to do with it? And the “dreadful Lindsey Horvath?” I smell misogyny. Also, we have a population of 10,000,000+ in the County.
All women uni-party Board of Sups is not *visually* representative of of LA, but more importantly lacks a diversity of thought. Criticizing the demographic makeup of our representatives is not misogyny— especially when Keuhl’s own ideological misandry had gone unchecked for decades.
