A man arrested for suspicion of kidnapping an unconscious woman in the West Hollywood bar and nightclub area was released from custody Saturday after posting bond.
Fernando Adrian Diaz, 50, was released at 2:19 a.m., according to sheriff’s inmate records. His bail was set at $100,000.
Deputy Kevin Herrera of the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station told NBC4 he was alerted by a man who pulled alongside his patrol car about 2 a.m. Friday. He located Diaz’s white 1997 Dodge Ram van with a black roof and light bar and found the woman inside “completely intoxicated,” Herrera said. “She did not know who’s van she was in.”
Diaz was arrested about 3 a.m., according to sheriff’s inmate records.
Relatives of Diaz told NBC4 the incident was a misunderstanding and that the Palmdale man who medically transports disabled patients was probably trying to help someone in need.
Meanwhile, West Hollywood sheriff’s detectives were looking for anyone who had contact with Diaz under similar circumstances overnight on Thursday, or anytime in the past, or has other information.
Diaz is described as Hispanic, 5 feet, 8 inches tall, 165 pounds, with blue eyes and gray hair.
People with information can call Detective Cynthia Mejia at 310-358- 4028 or c2mejia@lasd.org or call Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS (8477).
You call 911 and render help until paramedics arrive, pretty simple.
When you come across an unconscious person, woman, man, he, she, them, theirs, it or a little green man from Mars, call 911 on the spot for help. Is this too difficult?
What is the West Hollywood City Council doing about preventing sexual crimes in WEHO? First, demanding all public toilets be unisex. Perfect for Fernando Diaz types to get out of their trucks and head to WEHO Unisex public toilets for kidnapping, child molestation, rape, drug sales, indecent exposure, etc. You can thank Sepi Shyne and John Erickson for pushing the Unisex toilet agenda to satisfy their Woke agenda. 40% of WEHO residents are women. Do Shyne and Erickson care about their privacy? No way. I explored the Unisex Toilet campaign related to WEHO, featuring a young black woman advocating for… Read more »
Excellent video! There should be three choices: unisex, women’s, men’s.
Thanks for making this video available. As far as I know Horvath, Shyne and Erickson don’t have children and are not likely to. In the absence of children they are looking for some other way to leave a legacy. THIS kind of nonsense is the way they are saying to the world, “You’re gonna remember me! I made a difference!” Actually, it’s quite sad.
Aside from your concern, lets look at practicality. Men take much less time to use the bathroom, because of urinals. This will result in longer lines to the bathrooms for everyone.
And just because this was spearheaded by Erickson and Shyne, you aren’t going to have any vitriol towards the other three Councilmembers, who all voted for this, in a unanimous decision?

Can you please cite sources that support your claim that unisex bathrooms increase these type of crimes? Do you have statistics available to support your statement? Also, that video is laughable and fails to demonstrate the reality of unisex bathrooms – single stalls in one area with floor to ceiling partitions or one-person bathrooms (like you would use at a Starbucks) that used to be assigned to one gender but are now for either. This is all theatrics and hysteria!
