Is Shyne representing West Hollywood or Iran? I say she needs to focus on quality-of-life issues in West Hollywood…. crime, for one.
Demonstrating PROBLEM SOLVED in one’s own jurisdiction is the best example for others, near and far. Ms. Shyne must develop evidence of problem resolution on her watch in a city where she accepted responsibility for basic issues of safety and cleanliness rather than feel good happy talk events.
Can’t wait to see Shyne’s self interest kick in and make it all about her. She gives two sh!ts about women. Doesn’t care about women’s safety in West Hollywood that’s for sure. She just wants to make sure she makes press briefings of her “progress”.
Lets focus on the basics here. More police, less homeless and clean up the filthy streets and sidewalks.
Discussing women’s rights violations around the world is a worthy endeavor and I plan to participate in this program. I do question, however, why it’s focused on just one country. The worst violators of women’s rights are Afghanistan, Syria, Yemen, Pakistan, Iraq, South Sudan, Chad, Sudan, Sierra Leone, Palestine and Somalia. My question is silly—the focus is because of the personal political agenda of one member of the city council, like so many other pet projects funded by the city.
Well said.
Councilmember Shyne diminishes the overarching subject by offensive self interest. It would be more effective to promote a seminar on ethical behavior at every level here in West Hollywood and to even location beyond. It’s a universal quality to be attained.
