Stroll through West Hollywood Park and the Rainbow District one evening and you’ll catch the full effect of the city’s recent transformations. Beautifully lit and safe to explore, the park has brand-new playground equipment and a stunning outdoor art exhibit by, Parallel Perpendicular by Phillip K. Smith III. Up San Vicente Blvd., the re-imagined Rainbow Crosswalks now bear the more-inclusive colors of the Progress Flag.
Oh, WAIT, I want the color puce included as it is an earthy, pale pink that comes from mixing purple, pink, white and brown. How much more inclusive can you be?
Great looking video Brandon!
Impressive video.
Thank you.
Can’t wait to see the new aquatics center!
Presumably the United States is One Flag, One People. Splinters are less stable than the whole although they may be bright, shiny and mighty distracting. With all due respect, the whole embraces all, no one left behind.
There’s barely any rainbow left in the crosswalk…not a great look
Yep. The square footage of the added elements is a lot more than the rainbow. The added stripes could have been made smaller to leave rainbow colors. The design wasn’t thought out like the new laser bright overhead street lights that block out the color lights across SMB and turn the street ambience into that of a dumpster alleyway.
Brought to you by the “creative city”, Soon becoming a slum. Even putting lipstick on a pig, the pig remains a pig.
Spending $85,000 to paint colors on asphalt is a waste of taxpayers money.
AND the crosswalks are already blackened from traffic. Trash.
Agreed
yup. And looks tacky.
