A pedestrian was robbed at gunpoint around 10 p.m. Tuesday in West Hollywood, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The robbery occurred near the 900 block of Kings Road. The victim’s phone was stolen.
The suspect, a man possibly of Hispanic descent, then fled the scene in a silver or grey SUV.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is handling the case. Anyone with information is urged to call (310) 855-8850.
Ladies and Gentlemen. WE must be safe! WE must look out for one another. I found something at ACE/Koontz 90069 worth knowing about: a ice pick in its own sheath! Handy to keep around for protection, like when walking the dog. Keep in hand in pocket instead of talking on one’s phone! Pay attention to our environs at all times. Keep doors and windows locked. AND buy an air horn to carry and have in the residence.
publish the names of the commissioners who voted to cut police in weho – along with their addresses and photos
Yeah, let’s put them in danger from angry members of the public. Shaking my head. It seems like you are advocating what you are against. You can fight back on this issue, by speaking your mind. Like so many others have. Speak at council meetings. Speak at a Public Safety Commission. Watch the budget meetings, and comment and give your input. Reach out directly to all five council members. Their contact info is on the city website. This issue is not decided. And I do not think it will pass. In fact, I believe that we will maintain the same… Read more »
Google the name “Mark Feigin” and you’ll realize you’re not engaging with a mentally well individual.
either more police or less “minorities” in your neighborhood is the solution
nothing wring with minorities living in the neighborhood. Its the hoodlums and trash that come from other neighbors; they come in all colors, shapes and sizes.
YIKES “less minorities” is blatant racist! Two which minorities do you refer? Old News Mark Feigin was arrested last week on the charge, which has been designated as a hate crime, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. Feigin might be where to start ???? LOL!!! If one is a #RepugnantRepublican, maybe THEY should leave WeHo????
Wtf is wrong with you? WeHo is full of lgbt people, the Russion community, and many other members of minority groups. The residents and workers are not the problem. The mouth-breathing gangsters who come here from their hoods just to commit crimes are the problem. Get rid of them…and get rid of you too while we’re at it…
and people wonder why racism exists – it exists for a reason – white communities are safer
carry an ar15 when you walk your dog you are less likely to be robbed –
white people and asians are racist because they know being around just white people and asians you are safer –
maybe elect more republicans
post the names and addresses of weho commissioners who wanted to cut police numbers – along with their pics
WE NEED MORE POLICE PATROLS! City Council needs to stop putting our lives in danger while they fret over pretty colored lights and gender pronouns.
Amen
We wouldn’t need “more” if the existing number did their work. I’ve heard rumblings across news & the country, with LA Sheriff Dept in agreement with a not catchy and NOT TRUE REASON SO MANY SHERIFF’S DEPUTIES HAVE NOT COME TO WORK BECAUSE ….. THE ALREADY TAKEN ACTION AND CALLS FOR EVEN MORE CUTS MAKES IT UNSAFE TO COME TO WORK AS AN EMPLOYED, SALARY W PENSION ELIGIBLE EMPLOYEES…. THERE HAS BEEN NO “DEFUNDING OF POLICE” OR ANY LOCAL OR CA … IT WAS NEVER PUT ON ANY AGENDA EVEN FOR DISCUSSION….. IT WAS AN EMOTIONAL CALL OUT DURING THE… Read more »
West Hollywood did remove two sheriff positions from the budget in 2020 as part of pandemic austerity measures. The city also knew that crowds would be smaller at our bars, restaurants and hotels during the pandemic. The crowds are now returning and crime is also returning to pre-pandemic rates. Your all caps conflation of the issue and distortion of the facts isn’t helpful. Btw – overtime costs money too and at some point time and 1/2 or double time doesn’t make sense financially and leads to burn out. Stress and suicide are very high in law enforcement so added stress… Read more »
ROSE! Shouting makes it so much easier to read your incoherent post.
THE sad part, tiny amounts of WeHo residents ‘bother’ to Vote. They sit at home and bitch and moan about things, but offer no SOLUTIONS! Become part of the Solution, not part of the problem!
Crime, what crime? Let’s waste some more money replacing all the rainbow flags in town or spending more tax payer money to teach us which pronouns to use rather than keep the number of deputies we currently have. Afterall, our city is so safe and we have nothing to worry about. Thank God we have the leaders that we currently have on the council that make such rational and logical decisions. 🙄
I hope the SHE in city council reads this and understands that the populace does not agree with the social justice garbage. FYI to SHE, every liberal mayor in the major cities are now rolling back the DEFUND THE POLICE because they realize they would not get re-elected, which is their only job. Not because they believe in protecting the citizens, but their hyper inflated government pensions, etc.
And here we go again… how many hold-ups, follow home robberies, stolen cars, pick pockets, assaults, and violent crimes will it take for the see no evil, hear no evil, smell no evil – deaf, dumb and stupid city council and Public Safety Commission to see we are ENDANGER. We’re tired of your ignorance and stupid politics. Protect us!!! You work for us. Not your political agendas. You work for the residents of West Hollywood. Stop your BS and bring the officer quota back to pre COVID numbers. Stop this daily crime and insanity.
The City Council is definitely making things worse for us, but the main culprit is DA George Gascon, whom some CC members like Horvath endorsed. When criminals are caught, he lets them go through lesser charges, no bail, and often, no filing of cases. The guy is insane and completely corrupt. The criminals will keep coming if they’re not locked up. We will keep hearing about armed robberies and assaults in our neighborhoods if we don’t get him out of office soon. And while we’re at it, we need a new City Council, one that’s dedicated to public safety.
