Omg! People on here are blaming a store and city council for a car fire! They have nothing, absf***lately nothing to do with it. Please try to keep your stupid comments in context.
Thanks you

Thank you. Just about any time I see an article like this on this site, I scroll down, knowing that someone will blame it on the Council, “SHE,” or, at least, mention one or more of them (see above). It is beyond absurd. Someone could make a drinking game out of this.

This car fire looks like it was across the street from the Ramada West Hollywood hotel. At first,I thought it was a Tesla on fire, but it appears to be a foreign model. The cause was probably a gasoline leak near the engine that was still hot.

Whoa, the cameraman was getting close to the car.Luckily, there wasn’t a explosion and the firemen put the fire out quickly.

Nobody in Sprouts had a fire extinguisher? Store security?
It started very small and someone could have easily put it out with a fire extinguisher.

Why is it a business owner’s responsibility to put out a fire on a public street? Isn’t that why we fund the Fire and Sheriff’s Departments? Oh wait, we should defund them because fires are racist.

If you knew anything about fires, a car fire could happen fast. LA County Fire Dept most likely arrived within 5 to 10 minutes. A fire extinguisher could have put the fire out. But lame brain corporations like Sprouts don’t probably have a fire extinguisher. Hey, and if you live just north of the Sunset Strip, it could take 15 to 20 minutes for the Los Angeles Fire Department to get there from Hollywood. So don’t have a medical emergency north of the Strip. The LA Fire Ambulance will be there in the same amount of time. As for the… Read more »

LAIN BRAIN, do not try to twist the facts! Businesses have fire extinguishers for their OWN USE. The Business community has no obligation to provide emergency services to the general community. . We do not live in a socialist country. WAKE UP! AMERICA IS A CAPITALIST COUNTRY. #SEpiLyndDumJEmand.

Maybe they did have a fire extinguisher and tried. But there were too many abandoned Sprouts shopping cart in the way to get there in time.

It’s called decency, humanity, common sense, neighborly duty, kindness, instinct, being helpful, problem solving, heroism, intelligence.

So if you have a fire extinguisher and something in front of you is burning, you’re not going to put it out? But then you want to make a political statement. Just go away.

Smart folks have fire extinguishers in their homes, a small expense for a first line of defense. Mine is under the kitchen sink. Cars with FE may be a bit of a stretch but I remember during childhood my father having one in his car and was able to extinguish a car fire in another car crossing the George Washington Bridge. We also had generators at our house in the country to counter snow and ice storms.
