Police found a man shot dead Saturday inside his vehicle in the Melrose District of Los Angeles.
Officers responding at about 6:20 a.m. to a radio call of a possible murder in the area of North Orange Grove and Melrose avenues found the victim down inside his vehicle with a possible gunshot wound, the Los Angeles Police Department’s Media Relations Division reported.
Arriving paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.
Police said residents in the area reported hearing two gunshots at about 10 p.m. Friday, but no one called police.
LAPD West Bureau homicide detectives urged anyone with information regarding the shooting to call them at 213-382-9470 or Crime Stoppers at 800- 222-8477.
It doesn’t take Dexter to tell you that if he had shot himself, there would’ve only been one gunshot heard.
There is no crime in West Hollywood
Well at least not this crime. It was in Los Angeles,
I stayed in Los Angeles last August for a film festival and one night hear gunfire twice in the early morning hours.I didn’t report it to police because I didn’t know where the shots were coming from.I am sure if I had,the shooters would have been long gone by the time police came around to check.Sorry to say illegal gunfire is becoming more common in the city.
So he identified as a cadaver…
seems pretty safe to me……..
Crime. What crime?!
This is what the city has become under lawless Far Left democrats…gunshots, murder, and nobody cares.
The LAPD got a budget increase this past year! Why aren’t they doing their jobs?
Bad guys outnumber the good guys.
West Hollywood has always been run by Democrats.
I’ll tell you what changed. Years of Trump promoting violence.
The Republicans are the party of insurrection. They’re also the party of NO gun control. I’m sure the shooter wouldn’t pass a background check, yet the pro NRA right makes sure he can commit murder.

How is it with California having some of the strictest gun control laws in the nation, haave this kind of murder occurring?
Neither Los Angeles or West Hollywood, have a single (public) gun store between them – how could any perpetrator have obtained the weapons?
With Trump having lost the election more than 18 months ago, can he still feed such targeted hate being expressed violently via gun trigger pulls?
Because the rest of the nation didn’t do the right thing and follow the lead of the cities that have gun control laws like they were supposed to.
Law abiding gun owners, with legally procured guns aren’t committing crimes with their guns, by definition. This is basic comprehension.
That has nothing to do with the question you asked, which was “why does California having some of the strictest gun control laws in the nation, have this kind of murder occurring?” For this to work, other states and other cities within those states needed to copy what California was doing. Because they failed to do the right thing, this is happening. Question answered.
Again(basic comprehension time), guns used in felony level crimes (90% +) are not legally procured. Just because the gun laws are different from state to state, the gun crimes committed in California were not because of ‘legally procured’ guns (sourced from any state in the US). The vast majority of gun crimes in California use guns *illegally* sourced in (wait for it) … California.
All California’s strict laws do is hinder legally compliant gun owners from having access to the same guns criminals do.
Its a really simple proposition. You’ll get there some day.
Where did I say the guns were legally procured by criminals? Oh yeah, I didn’t, something about comprehension. Somewhere in the chain between gun manufacturer and criminal, there’s an actual person responsible for any gun getting into the hands of any criminal. And that’s the person we need to take to task as an accessory to a crime. If your gun is stolen for example and used to kill someone, you need to be charged as an accessory to the murder, and face a maximum sentence, we can’t have criminals getting back onto the streets so easily. And as a… Read more »
Ever heard of ghost guns or did you know that you can print a fully functioning gun with a 3D printer? No serial number, no registration needed. Impossible to track.
Almost all of the so called Ghost Guns, are illegally sourced guns who’ve been illegally altered to remove serial numbers and other ATF mandated identifiers.
3D printed weapons are vanishingly scarce, representing a statistical rounding error in terms of total guns in circulation, and have been almost never been used in the comission of a felony level gun crime.
Just so you know what is actually occurring and can understand the facts behind the hysterical rhetoric.
Criminals don’y buy guns and go through a background check. They are stolen. Don’t let the criminals out with a slap on the wrist. You site Jan 6 that was one day…what about an entire summer of BLM riots and over a billion dollars of destruction. Your party is so peaceful and loving though.
We don’t need more useless gun control. We need criminal control. Democrats scream about gun violence but people do the violence so lock them up when they use a gun In a crime. And leave the rest of us law abiding gun owners alone.
Well since a lot of criminals get ahold of guns one way or another from law abiding gun owners, they are contributing to the crime. I think we had better charge them as an accessory, in that case if their legally purchased gun is one that ends up being used in a crime. You should be fine with that, it’s your right to own a gun and you are responsible 100 percent of the time. And we have to stop this crime.
I’m not a gun owner. In fact, I hate guns. But..,do you even understand what an accessory is? In CA, an accessory after the fact is someone who helps a criminal get away with the crime after the crime has already been committed. So, no, you can’t charge someone as an accessory because a thief stole their gun and used it to commit another crime. You also can’t charge the person as an aider and abettor because they have to possess the same intent as the shooter, which in your scenario, they would not. So stop throwing around legal terminology… Read more »
Ah, as the law is written NOW, that would be correct. And this is why we have to change the law to make it so anyone facilitating a gun falling into the hands of a criminal who commits a crime with it gets charged. Regardless of how this happens, and mandatory minimum sentences need to be attached. So called gun enhancements alone are not going to stop the guns from falling into criminals’ hands to begin with. As I said, answer for everything. Merely replacing one local DA for another is just some ad hominem shuffling of the deck and… Read more »
Agree 100%
I was thinking about this earlier today.
You have a point.
Permission to hate and act out seem more rampant.
This is a comparison of mostly poor people associated with BLM acting inappropriately, to the president and the Congress believing they were above the law. If there’s no consequences for those at the very top on down, what incentive is there for those at the bottom to abide by the law. The answer is zero incentive and I’m surprised we’re not even seeing more of this. We probably will. Oh well. Maybe one day those at the top will set a proper example.
The Democrats used to be a party of sane people but have gone off the rails with these progressives. We haven’t left the Democratic Party they left us.
Wait until you hear Former Secretary Mark Esper’s recounting of Trump’s craziness when he had to talk him off the ledge of bombing Mexico to get rid of drug dealers. Trump stated “No one would know the US had bombed them”. Can you imagine such a hair brain idea? Now can you imagine Trump dealing with Putin? 💥💥💥
