Pendry condo sale breaks record

A penthouse at the Pendry Residences West Hollywood sold for $21.5 million this month — the record highest sale of the year and the fourth highest of all time in the L.A. area.

The property is nearly 10,000 square feet in size and fills the entire 10th floor of the Pendry. It’s one of 40 residences inside the building, the cheapest of which is $5 million. Fewer than half remain available.

$35 million remains the record sale price in the area, which happened in 2010, according to the LA Business Journal.

The NYT is in a death spiral and they think that doubling down on liberalism’s toxic worldview will lead them out. As always, they are wrong — this kind of article only ensures that their demise, when it comes, will be great. I have long looked forward to the day they print their last newspaper. In that day, I will buy it, and dance on it.

Perhaps the price reflects a front-row seating premium for activities like the multi-shooting that occurred at the Pendry Residences’ Fountain Ave. entryway?

Just what I always wanted – a multi-million dollar condo in a building with a flashing 24-7 billboard on the side.

For those of us unfamiliar with the property, giving the location would have been useful.

The way to destroy these high prices, is social media. Pointing out they are buying in one of the most dangerous cities in California. Surrounded by homeless, patrolled by a third rate safety patrol called block by block, in favor of defunding the police led by the dreadful Sepi Shyne. Take a look what’s just beginning to destroy her Ludacris equity woke agenda!

I’m curious – the article says that units start at $5 million. Is that really what someone has paid for that fishbowl unit below street level on the corner of Olive and Fountain???

I’m wondering that too lol. That unit is literally RIGHT on Fountain. I assume there aren’t any apartments on actual ground level though? From Fountain at least, it looks like it’s parking at that level.

I swear if you walk south on Olive toward Fountain you are looking below street level into that unit. It’s bizarre because it’s actually occupied!

I just hope expensive sales like this mean more folks in town who care about safety and aren’t trying to defund our already too few sheriffs. (Yes I know this is likely a part-time condo for this person, but still).

Apparently they did not receive the memo that our police have been defunded, the bars are now open until 4 AM, and crime is up over 200% talk about not getting what you’re paying for!

Joining the ranks of misinformed, the late-night bar hours begin in 2025. 4 a.m. Last Call for West Hollywood Bars? – SM Mirror The new bar hours would take effect starting on January 2 of 2025, pending state lawmakers’ final approval of this program and ratification by Gov. Gavin Newsom.  The rules of this resolution allow the cities to decide where and when the pilot program can be applied and which bars can take part. For example, West Hollywood could opt to only have the extended hours be in place for Pride month, or individual nights like New Year’s Eve… Read more »

They are so bloated for the rich that they have two units that have their own five car luxury garage with its own bathrooms. Sheesh! Why not show off that fancy car so you can get carjacked and killed!
