A person was found shot in a vehicle in West Hollywood Friday.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputies responding to reports of a possible shooting were flagged down by a pedestrian about 5:25 p.m. in the area of San Vicente and Santa Monica boulevards, near West Hollywood Park, where they found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound inside an SUV, Deputy Alejandra Parra of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau told City News Service.

Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics were called to the scene and took the person to a hospital in unknown condition.

Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau investigators were working with the Los Angeles Police Department to determine if the shooting victim was related to reports of a shooting in the area of La Cienega and Beverly boulevards, near the Beverly Center, the LAPD received just after 5:25 p.m., said Officer Matthew Cruz.

No further details were immediately available.

I think the problem is these out of state rappers and their posses come to LA which is the epicenter of The Bloods and The Crips so when these smaller town groups come to LA and have beef with either gang they are in way over their heads and the other side will find you. No matter what side of the political aisle you are on not sure what the cops can do about that?

The total community that has produced Rap Phenomenon has failed to take responsibility for any of its outrageous actors and events…..they are too busy making money and profiting from outrageous “newsworthy” events. Sad for the remainder of the world. They take over businesses, streets, local communities and leave catastrophic residue.

The commenters who are reacting to this shooting by blaming the “Blue City and Blue State” seem to not be aware that they presently have the freedom to leave. And good riddance. They are so angry. If West Hollyood were red and the state were red and the country were red and the supreme court IS red, bye bye gay rights. Clarence Thomas wants to ban same sex relationships as well as same sex marriage. This shooting was obviously a planned hit and has nothing to do with red, blue or chartreuse. Reading these comments one can see an angry… Read more »

You fail to recognize that soft on crime policies ruin the fun of life for everyone…you no longer have a civilized society if criminals can “take over” and clean out a seven eleven because they have no fear of consequences.

A ballot is not the same thing as a signature collected from an unregistered voter outside a gas station. The recall campaign even acknowledged how they screwed this up lol.

The recall effort failed. Better luck in 2024!

I was born in West Hollywood a few years back. My family are real property owners. It is no different now than it was in the 40’s when real big time gangsters ran the Sunset Strip. There was gambling and prostitution and all manner of vice Mickey Cohen was a regular visitor at the establishments. This fantasy you people have that crime is going unpunished is absurd. When you factor in the populaltion growth you will find that the stats are the same or maybe even better now. But what has changed is media outlets. Meia depends on the kind… Read more »

This is just one of the many shootings in the Los Angeles area. What else can you expect? With a totally incompetent and corrupt DA, backed by George Soros, who is releasing murders right and left. Of course in West Hollywood we have the disastrous Block by Block farce supervised by a convicted felon charged with robbery and murder! BbyB is Sepi Shyne’s totally incompetent third rate safety patrol costing millions to satisfy her Woke left wing ego. She along with her council member colleagues are reimagining Police work in Weho. Along with killing freedom of speech by those anti-American… Read more »

1) We don’t have all the facts yet.
2) Seemingly, this was a hit on an GA rapper and his entourage. (They’ve already been shot at twice in the last 2 years.)

The MAGA crowd takes any incident and falsely lays blame elsewhere.
Do you know who’s responsible for gun violence? MAGA, and the NRA. 36 Republicans voted against a gun safety bill in June. The blood is on their hands.

Do a little research and use some critical thinking skills (if you have any) before you spout off on an issue that is more complicated than you seem to realize rather than rant on some headline that merely confirms your bias.

Looks like he struck a nerve. It’s true. The state is completely blue. Gotta look internally which I know is hard for the left. Justice for the committer of crime, not the victim. If only the perpetrator was given bread….

Gay Maga wants to blame George Soros for a “hit” on a rapper. John Rich wants to say this incident was the fault of “defund the police” (the LAPD has $1.7BILLION budget.)
This incident has ZERO to do with either.
Stop using random events to push a political agenda.
But since you want to play that game, it’s hard to shoot someone if you can’t access a gun.

You’re exposing yourself as a voter who is emotionally vested in your ideology and angry when things don’t go your way, including at those who don’t share your points of view.

Most of those in my social circle don’t vote as I do but they like me anyway. You should try to be more like us.

That’s exactly what I was thinking. A white van appears from an alley, shoots at one vehicle without hitting any bystanders, and disappears. All the hallmarks of a planned hit, this one on GA rapper Quando Rondo, who was previously involved in another shooting in 2021. If the perps in the white van were driving around WeHo aimlessly shooting at people, they would have been sighted elsewhere before or after the shooting.

Gun safety bill! Would mean nothing. Do you think these criminals all over the streets of this BLUE city and BLUE state have registered guns? Do you think some gun law by the corrupt Democrats is going to stop guns coming over the border illegally from Mexico when the Biden crime family say okay to millions of illegals swarming all over the country. Stop watching “Morning Joe!” and reading Dr. Schlong’s Los Angeles “El Segundo” Times.

Seems the Sherriff Station in WeHo is the place to dump bodies and also escape from custody. Nice to know the epicenter of crime in WeHo is the Sheriff’s Station. I guess the Deputy Gangs are too busy placing dead rats to be concerned about such things. Good job Villanueva! Let’s throw a few more million bucks to the Sheriff and see how quickly they waste it with no impact on crime reduction.

merely a reply to the logic you used ‘throwing money to the LASD’, who are professionally trained law enforcement. We spend about 50,000 $ per homeless person in West Hollywood, 5 mil for a 100 known homeless..and probably does not include staff time, –and do the math..if there were ‘120’ homeless people last ‘outreach’, Lindsey Horvath claims to have cleaned up 80% of the homeless population in weho.. .so at the end of that year there are only 36 unhoused left.. and then she cleaned up the other 80% last year, so if Horvath’s math is correct there are only… Read more »

Okay i’m skipping your rant about Horvath because I really don’t care about your tirade against the current council. Larry, this shooting happened in the city of Los Angeles. A city that INCREASED the budget for “professionally trained law enforcement” last year. Explain how they would have prevented a group of rappers from shooting each other. Very rarely are the police able to prevent something like this. Good luck getting LASD personnel to spend their day bothering mentally ill homeless people on the sidewalk. How would they get them to move? Where would they move to? If you arrest them,… Read more »

Liberals’ solution for every social ill is to just throw more money at it. And when it doesn’t work out ….. well, … they intended to help, and they do feel good about themselves for that, but there is nothing more to do now but ….. throw even more money at it!

This keeps sticking with me about these events:

Namely, shot at a gas station that has a sight line to Cedars-Sinai would have required the vehicle carrying the victim to pass by the hospital. Perhaps these individuals were in shock or don’t know the area, but a major medical facility with a large red EMERGENCY sign might have been a life-saving option versus heading half a mile up the street.

Given the logistics, the victim being driven to the sheriff’s station seems odd.

The body was found IN FRONT OF THE SHERIFF STATION. FIRST RESPONDERS did not even have to get into their vehicles to get to the scene. And you think that taking three deputies off the street is the cause of the crime in WeHo. Wake up.

No deputies have been cut from the sheriff’s department. The cuts are not happening until September and even then it is only two (actually one since the City Council added one deputy in June). Currently the City still has 61 deputies so…please connect the dots on how this is tied to those who voted. Also, no where in the vote was there any mention of “first responders”, the Sheriff’s department will decide which deputies are cut.
