Deputies with the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department flooded the gas station on Santa Monica Blvd. and Edinburgh on Saturday morning as two men cause a disturbance. Larry Block investigates.
What do I see, 5 or 6 squad cars for something like this?? Ridiculous. And people scream when you even suggest reallocating police funds in a more effective way. And there is absolutely no reason for that cop car to be blocking the right lane and disrupting heavy traffic. And I guarantee you they stayed there for an hour standing around gabbing with each other and staring at their cell phones.
Weho cops are arrogant and useless. Weho sorely needs a better system of crime fighting.

Typical – Sheriff shows up and DOES NOTHING except block traffic – NOT A DAMN THING – No wonder the monkeys are running loose –
The cops in weho are useless. They dispatch several units for every event then they all stand around staring at their cellphones and talking to each other with their hands in their pockets for an hour. And theyre NOWHERE to be found when you need one. They’re arrogant spoiled and entitled.

There’s a 7-Eleven right next to that gas station and it’s that 7-Eleven that David Lee Roth was exiting and walking to his car way back in the day when a group of Latinas was sitting outside their truck blasting a new song that just come out called “Beat It.” And in his memoir, David Lee Roth mentions that it’s right there in that spot when he first heard that song and realized it was Eddie Van Halen playing guitar on it, which he claims he was not told about. That spot should have a plaque on it memorializing that… Read more »

This neighborhood is very dodgey. I used to go to the laundromat that is just next door to this intersection. Countless homeless. They would even sleep inside the laundromat. Talk about the stink. Glad I don’t have to deal with that anymore.
I go to that laundromat all the time and it isnt nearly as bad as you describe. There’s one elderly homeless woman that hangs around that parking lot sometimes but that’s about it. And the laundromat itself is kept clean by the attendant.

I love these on the ground reports Larry! Remember you have a right to record police, just listen to their direction to not impede what their doing. They don’t have to tell you what’s going on but sometimes they will, especially with a press badge.
