A massive water main broke on Westbourne Ave. this morning, flooding the street with water. We’ve reached out to the utility company for more information.
I’m sure it’s just a coincidence it happened to the Infront of the new Condo (I think, maybe apt?) Behind trader Joe’s that was a small single family home on a small lot.
You can see it well from the Trader Joe’s Parking Lot (not sure if the back is the front with our TJs)
At least we are a State with so much water, it will do us a favor having that huge volume to down into the ocean.
This is INSANE!

The city should focus more on its antique infrastructure because it affects everyone whether their home is an apartment building, a multi million dollar. Info or a historic building. This free wheeling development is simply not cool or responsible…….so let’s anticipate issues before we are swept downstream.

Not only is it horrifying to watch all this water go to waste but the fact that the City didn’t include a cistern into the project is mind boggling. What was their thought process to dismiss such an obvious important water saving feature? BTW, this is not the first time they broke the water main.

Building, building, building, building with little thought to West Hollywood’s aging infrastructure. Water main breaks in the middle of severe droughts are just one more reason we ALL need to pay closer attention to the Climate Crisis. Forethought, forethought, forethought, forethought. We need more of it.

It would be helpful if you said where on Westbourne- South or North of SMB? If South, is the city rerouting the CityLine buses that use Westbourne to serve the senior housing?

Those photos are north of SMB, just below the junction at West Knoll.
Could Wehoville contact Lynn Hoopengarner who could probably give an up to the minute account?
