New apartments coming to La Cienega/SMB

Plans have been filed by Guild GC, a developer, for a midsize apartment complex at 951-971 North La Cienega Boulevard on the border of central West Hollywood.

The proposal, which was submitted to the Los Angeles City Planning Department last week, describes a seven-story building with 59 units just south of Santa Monica Boulevard.

Beverly Grove is one of the most coveted residential areas in Central L.A. County, with a 2022 study revealing that the median rent for a one-bedroom apartment in WeHo was $2,890, making it the second-highest in L.A. County after Santa Monica.

The co-founder and president of Guild GC, Eric Fishburn, is the applicant for the La Cienega project. He has worked on over 100 residential projects, including multifamily residences, luxury estates, and a ski resort. The project team includes the development planning firm Burns & Bouchard and the land use law firm Rand Paster Nelson.

Another ugly, cheap-looking building coming right up. Seriously, where do they get these “architects” from? Did they even go to school or just learn their trade playing with Legos?

This website has renderings of the proposed design. The development would be directly next to the approved design at the corner of La Cienaga and Santa Monica Blvd.

WOW I’ve seen a lot of UGLY but this may make it high on the list.
Will have high demand for the quiet piece, tranquility and safety of this new Apartment Building.

It’s not where a Jewish man was beaten on the sidewalk.

That took place all the way on the other side of the street from this green affordable gorgeous oasis next to our city.

It’s NOT in the City of WeHo. No need to march on this latest new build.

City Planners of City of LA are running this one.

There goes the neighborhood of Beverly Grove. First the entrenched homeless hordes and now the beginning of a 7 story corridor. This area was once the Design District filled with interesting shops, restaurants and businesses, now it will become what Ben Soleimani sold as a concept of High Street in the UK, minus the architecture, minus the ambiance, minus the history. It keeps his ponies in shoes.

Sure. Interesting galleries that no one from the neighborhood can afford to buy from, and virtually no customers, and insanely high rent. Maybe best to have expensive fair market apartments, or million dollar condos. This is in the City of L.A., not in Weho. A developer would have to be insane to build apartments inside Weho.

No one indicated that this was in Weho. In a Design District one does not usually see the traffic you would expect in a regular retail location as much of it is by appointment. So sorry you cannot afford to shop, your facade has slipped.

WehoQueen – developers often building apartments in Weho. Nothing really insane about it.
