West Hollywood’s thriving food scene will soon be joined by Lalou, a new restaurant offering a taste of coastal France and Europe. The restaurant, scheduled to open its doors this fall, will take over the 8,900-square-foot space at 8478 Melrose Ave. previously occupied by Ago, a popular celebrity haunt that closed in late 2019.

Lalou, the latest venture from the Boujis Group, will seat 220 patrons in its large indoor space as well as an outdoor garden bar. The Melrose Avenue location will be managed by general manager Vincent Samarco, previously of Belle Vie.

The menu at Lalou is curated by culinary director Ivo Filho and executive chef Gena Deliyannis, focusing on fresh seafood and produce in dishes such as fish crudo, slow-baked wild gulf shrimp, and grilled swordfish, according to Eater LA. Dessert offerings will include a Basque cheesecake and gold leaf-flecked profiteroles with dark chocolate and vanilla soft serve.
