West Hollywood’s entire City Council was on hand Sunday at West Hollywood Park to install Pickle as the city’s inaugural Drag Laureate.
Councilmember Lauren Meister, who originated the idea years ago, made opening marks, and Mayor Sepi Shyne presented Pickle with a proclamation.
Pickle gave a rousing speech followed by a crowd-pleasing musical performance.
Pickle will be expected to attend various City events throughout the year, supporting arts and culture and the business community. She will receive a $15,000 honorarium for the two-year role.

I’m a liberal Democrat and this is deplorable. Also, it’s time to reclaim the gay and lesbian community from the radical TQIA+ crowd. We need to suspend and rethink pride parades and the obsession with flags.
If you are calling the “TQIA+” section of the LGBTQIA+ community radical, then you are not a liberal democrat. Sadly you are getting sucked into the conservative talking points. Trans people have been here all along. Never forget Marsha P. Johnson, a trans woman who was the first person to throw a brick at Stonewall upon which pride parades are based.
