Willie McGinest, the former linebacker for the Patriots, is preparing to face a challenging legal struggle as he seeks to prove his innocence in an assault case that occurred last year.
McGinest was involved in an incident at the West Hollywood nightclub Delilah where he attacked an individual for making a remark about his college football team, USC.
This past Wednesday, the former NFL star entered a plea of ‘not guilty’ to a pair of serious assault charges. The charges against him include assault with a weapon considered deadly and assault through means that could likely result in significant physical harm.
The altercation took place on December 9, 2022. After voluntarily surrendering to the authorities in Los Angeles, McGinest was released a few hours later, having posted bail in the amount of $30,000.
The scene at the WeHo location was tense. A man named Blake Adams reportedly insulted USC following their defeat to Utah in the Pac-12 championship.
In response, McGinest approached Adams’s table with some of his friends and physically confronted the man. It is alleged that McGinest struck the man’s face with his fist and hit his head with a glass bottle.

Typical Patriots jerk. Deserves a minimum of 30 years. Probably should lock up like half the team just to be safe while we’re at it.
Question is, why these “paragons of virtue” pro athletes don’t focus on giving back to their own which translates into infusing high standards into their hood brothers. Starting with the retail mobs/gangs that raid stores in every city. I believe it began in our area in the Beverly/Fairfax area then migrated to Santa Monica. Good Show BLACK LIVES MATTER!!!!
