The West Hollywood Chamber of Commerce presented its annual Creative Business Awards at a ceremony Wednesday night at the 1 Hotel in West Hollywood.
The glamorous gala featured a packed audience of who’s who in the city’s business community. The event was MC’d by actress and comedienne Jackie Tohn, kicking off with an electric performance by classic rock singer and guitarist Suran Arustamyan, while jazz singer Brenna Whitaker lit up the stage later in the evening.
Chamber Board of Directors President David Wood brought down the house with a hilarious introduction, while Chamber CEO Genevieve Morrill gave a rousing speech about the critical state of business in West Hollywood and the Chamber’s new effort to amplify the voices of business owners in local politics.
Councilmembers Lauren Meister and John Heilman were seen in the audience, but Mayor Sepi Shyne, Mayor Pro Tem John Erickson and Councilmember Chelsea Byers — whose policies have put them at odds with the Chamber in the past — were apparently no-shows.
The Sunset Marquis was presented with the night’s top honor, the Legacy Award, presented to its owner by actor Billy Bob Thornton.
Netflix Billboards won the Creative Communications Award for their eccentric and innovative Sunset Strip advertising spaces.
Everytable, which recently opened a storefront on Santa Monica Boulevard for their healthy prepared meals, received the Creative Concept Award.
The Den on Sunset won the Corporate Innovation Award, while the John Chase Art & Design Award went to Artlounge Collective and the WeHo Attraction Award was given to the Andaz hotel.
Artlounge Collective owner Ryan Henisey thanked the previous year’s winner, Katie Brightside, for her support while promoting her recently published book Once Upon a Cocktail.
The Butcher’s Daughter received the Innovative Sustainability Award and Being Alive! won the Creative Community Service Award.
Looks like a big laugh. What a silly event for unserious people.
It was another CBA triumph at 1 HOTEL!
