Couples planning to exchange vows today have the unique opportunity to secure a marriage license and wed on the same day at the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk’s Office located in Norwalk.

This special offering of same-day marriage licensing and civil ceremonies will be available exclusively at the Norwalk main office, situated at 12400 Imperial Highway. Operations for these services will run from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.

While walk-ins are welcome, couples can expedite the process by completing a marriage license application online prior to their visit. This application can be found at marriage.lavote.net/mls/.

For the civil ceremony, the county imposes a fee of $35. Obtaining a marriage license is priced at $91, with the option of a confidential license available for $85.

Last Valentine’s Day witnessed 140 couples utilizing the Norwalk office for same-day licensing and wedding ceremonies—a significant increase from the typical 30 ceremonies conducted on an ordinary day. Additionally, 73 couples celebrated their union on Valentine’s Day 2023 at various other registrar-recorder offices throughout Los Angeles County.

For Valentine’s Day ceremonies at any other Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk branch locations in L.A. County, appointments will be necessary. Couples must also have a marriage license purchased in advance to schedule an appointment at these branch offices.

The title should have been “You might get ripped off for FREE today ❗ ” In California without a prenuptial agreement signed before marriage stating terms limiting financial & property distribution if the the marriage ends in divorce, then everything acquired during the marriage is considered 50/50 ownership. If the victim & the bride don’t sign the prenup, there’s NO prenup agreement protection.
