Kylie Minogue is coming to WeHo.
The LGBTQ icon and dance-pop vixen behind hits like “Padam Padam” and “Can’t Get You Out of My Head” will join Janelle Monáe (“The Way You Make Me Feel“) and Diplo + Friends (“Heartless“) as the headlining acts of the OUTLOUD Music Festival at WEHO PRIDE 2024.
West Hollywood’s third annual Pride festival, produced by JJLA, will also feature Doechii, Ashnikko, Noah Cyrus and Trixie Mattel among a packed lineup of entertainment scheduled for June 1 and 2. Prior WEHO PRIDE headliners have included Jesse J, Carly Rae Jepsen and Grace Jones.
Minogue got her start in the 1980s as a teen actress on the popular Australian soap opera “Neighbours.” She transitioned to music with her debut single “The Loco-motion” in 1987, establishing her as a global pop superstar. Minogue staged a major comeback in 2001 with her massively successful album “Fever,” and most recently made waves in the LGBTQ community with the hit “Padam Padam”
Monáe, who served as grand marshal of the WEHO PRIDE parade two years ago, is a multifaceted American singer, songwriter, rapper, actress and producer who has garnered acclaim for her distinctive fusion of various musical genres, including funk, soul, and R&B, with futuristic and science fiction themes. Monáe’s career took off with the release of her first full-length studio album, “The ArchAndroid,” which was lauded for its conceptual ambition and artistic versatility. Her subsequent albums, particularly “The Electric Lady” and “Dirty Computer,” further cemented her status as a visionary artist, earning critical praise and numerous award nominations. In addition to her music career, Monáe has made significant strides in acting, with notable roles in acclaimed films such as “Moonlight” and “Hidden Figures.”
Diplo is an influential American DJ, record producer and songwriter, renowned for his electronic dance music and pioneering contributions to various music genres. He co-created and leads the dancehall music project Major Lazer, is one-half of the electronic duo Jack Ü alongside Skrillex, and is a member of the supergroup LSD with Sia and Labrinth. His work spans collaborations with a wide array of artists, contributing to his reputation as a versatile and innovative figure in the music industry
Diplo is a problem, here. JJLA and CC should have done some basic research before platforming this guy.
“Padum Padum” should be spelled Padam Padam 🙂 See you at WeHoPride2024 and thanks for sharing the fabulousness coming this June!
Argh, my gay card got revoked! lol
Thank you Mayor
KYLIE?! Oh they nailed it this year
Impressive line-up. It would appear that by dropping the CSW prepackaged Pride festivities and entertainment, Weho is demonstrating its star power with quality entertainment. Bravo.
Next up, let’s get rid of the flatbed parade truck floats and take a page from Pasadena and the Rose Parade. Quality in is Quality out.
Hahaha, uh, no
How come there are no rock artists? I’m gay and I love rock and roll just as much as Joan Joan, who is lesbian, and GLBT rockers like Rob Halford, Michael Stipe, and Melissa Etheridge. Who decides who the masses of gay people get at their Pride festivals? At Silverlake gay bars, they used to play rock at Faultine and the Eagle all the time. Those clubs even hosted live local and national rock artists. I’ve seen the Dandy Warhols play Faultline and revered Silverlake “homocore” band Extra Fancy play the Fauntjet/Eagle back in the day. Why not mix up… Read more »
You manage to complain about everything.
That is a talent really!
WeHo Pride isn’t for everyone, which is why we also have Long Beach Pride, L.A. Pride, Downtown Pride, etc…perhaps one of those other locations would be more satisfying for you. Or not.
