UPDATE: A suspect has been apprehended.

As sheriffs continue searching for a suspect in the assault of a celebrity hairstylist in West Hollywood’s Rainbow District, Heart WeHo released a statement expressing their sympathy and detailing their cooperation with the investigation.

Two weeks ago, 53-year-old Albert Vasquez was found bleeding and unconscious the morning after he went barhopping with friends at Heart WeHo and GYMBar.

According to the Daily Mail, Vasquez’s clients includes actress Elizabeth Moss.

He spent more than a week in the intensive care unit. Doctors removed part of his skull to relieve brain swelling.

His family fears the attack was a hate crime, and sheriffs are investigating it as such.

Tweet from lance Bass. Distancing him from the liability. “Wow! This news really weighs on me. I found out about this incident recently, having stepped away from Heart months ago. It’s truly disheartening. Violence, in any shape or form, is just unacceptable, and my thoughts go out to Albert, his friends/family, and anyone who had to witness this disturbing altercation. When I first joined Heart, my mission was clear: to foster a place where people could find safety, have a good time, and were able to truly be themselves. It’s incredibly distressing to realize that there are individuals who act… Read more »

A bouncer at Heart Weho has now been arrested. The liability to Heart weho will most likely put it out of business.

It’s so strange that this incident is barely mentioned in the wider local news outlets. The vague details always sounded unusual from the start. I’m glad my WeHo club days were fulfilled long ago.

This poor guy could have been anyone of us. Prayers to him and his family. There are cameras everywhere in WeHo, including in front of and behind both clubs and the store in between them. Why is there no word on the camera content? There was an assault on a Block by Block security officer right in front of the same club a few weeks ago and there is clear video of that incident. I hope this man recovers soon and gets justice.

This is really shabby journalism. Alberto was not found the morning after, he was picked up by EMS directly outside of Heart Weho’s front entrance at around 11 p.m. after multiple witnesses saw him lying there bleeding and unconscious for several minutes while Heart Weho did nothing. He had just been kicked out of Heart Weho, multiple witnesses saw him having an altercation with security inside of Heart Weho just before. He was not barhopping with friends, he was alone and was at Gym Bar earlier in the night, before he went to Heart Weho. This no longer seems like… Read more »

Thank you for providing what you know.. What kind of a “community member” would force the family to obtain a police order to provide video footage of a crime. Alfonzo Espinoza is not interested in solving a violent crime. It’s amazing how disgusting a person could be to demand such a request. Alfonzo is trash. Sounds like security staff may be responsible and they are hiding this evidence.

It’s not a “police order”, it’s called a “warrant”. Law enforcement or the District Attorney may request a warrant for the video footage, but that warrant must be signed by a Superior Court judge. FYI, most businesses require a warrant before releasing video footage.
