WeHo for the People Coalition Hosts West Hollywood City Council Candidate Forum — Thursday, September 26, 2024

Residents and businesses in West Hollywood will have the chance to engage with the city’s potential future leaders at an upcoming City Council Candidate Forum on Thursday, September 26, 2024. Organized by WeHo for the People (WHFTP), this event is set to take place from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM at Beaches Tropicana, located at 8911 Santa Monica Blvd, West Hollywood, CA 90069.

WeHo for the People is a non-partisan coalition created by the West Hollywood Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with local neighborhood watch groups and resident associations. The coalition is dedicated to addressing the most significant challenges facing West Hollywood by fostering dialogue between residents and businesses.

The coalition includes a diverse range of groups: Cynthia-Sunset Neighborhood Watch, Eastside Neighborhood Watch, Kings Road North Neighborhood Watch, N. Harper & Sweetzer Avenues Neighborhood Watch, Norma Triangle Neighborhood Watch, “Owls” Neighborhood Watch, WeHo Plummer Park, Tri-West Residents Association, West Hollywood Heights Neighborhood Association, West Hollywood West Residents Association, and the West Hollywood Chamber of Commerce.

At the forum, residents and businesses will hear from the nine candidates running for City Council. Each candidate will respond to questions on key community concerns such as homelessness, public safety, economic stability, and affordable housing. The format is designed to ensure fairness, with candidates answering questions in random order, followed by a public Q&A session where attendees can submit their own questions. Each candidate will also deliver a closing statement, giving them a final opportunity to speak directly to attendees.

These “forums” are worthless. We need an actual debate where candidates can confront other candidates directly about their lies and hypocrisy. Does anyone really think we’re going to learn anything useful about Danny Hang? As usual, it will be the standard nonsense like “I will protect affordable housing and welcome more homeless to the city”.
