Construction has begun on Sushi Samba, the Japanese-Brazilian fusion chain from London, set to open its doors in West Hollywood. The restaurant is being built on the rooftop of the La Peer Building, next to Ladyhawk at 639 North La Peer Drive. Scheduled to open in 2025, the 17,500-square-foot venue will feature sweeping 360-degree views and a retractable roof.
This West Hollywood location represents a significant step for Sushi Samba, marking the brand’s first U.S. opening since 2008 in Las Vegas. Originally launched in New York in 1999, Sushi Samba is known for blending Japanese, Brazilian, and Peruvian culinary influences. The chain has expanded internationally with locations in Dubai, Singapore, and Doha, Qatar.
The new space, designed by Dizon Collective, will include terrazzo flooring, a marble bar, lush greenery, and a canopy crafted from recycled materials. Highlights of the design include an open kitchen, sushi bar, and robata grill, allowing diners to observe the chefs in action. Catering to Los Angeles’ celebrity scene, the restaurant will offer a private dining room, a dedicated elevator, and a separate entrance for exclusive access.
The Catch crowd will love this place. Their $40 Samba roll is delicious as is the $75 ribeye.
