Mark Tashman, founder of Tashman’s Hardware has passed away at the age of 87.

Kenny Tashman, son and proprietor of West Hollywood’s longest serving community hardware store announced the passing of his father on his facebook page.

“He loved my mother, Janet for 62 years of marriage,” said Kenny Tashman.   “He had three amazing children and five incredible grandchildren!  I was blessed to have him as my father, mentor, partner, and friend.   He taught me the importance of hard work, family, being Jewish, and a proud American” He was a master gardener, great dancer, expert traveler, and photographer.   He made great salami and eggs too!

Mark Tashman was a true American success story. He loved his business Tashman Home Center, investing in multi-family properties, Israel, and debating politics. I am heartbroken that his is gone, but as he would say “he squeezed the lemon fully” and he truly lived a “Wonderful Life.”

Tashman’s Home Center was founded in West Hollywood in 1961.

Baruch Dayan Ha’Emes. May his memory be a blessing to all who knew him, and may his family be comforted amongst the mourners of Tzion and Yerushalayim. And thank you to the Tasman family for being an integral part of our community for more than 60 years
