Our question is inspired by the news that Betty Buckley, the Tony-winning actress and singer, secretly buried her dog, Rags, in the garden of the Chateau Marmont. The Yorkshire terrier’s interment, revealed by the New York Post, took place many years ago. Best Buckley remembers, the poor animal is rotting away under what used to be the big Marlboro Man billboard on Sunset. “We went out to the front, dug the grave . . . sang some hymns, and told Rags stories, and buried her there,” Buckley said.
No tombstone? No memorial? Not even the occasional bunch of flowers? We think Rag, born into riches, deserves more.
Me too times 3. Cremation is a personal choice that can be made if the remains are to be kept. Or if you live in a place where a yard is available and it’s YOURS. How idiotic is a Pet Burial Ordinance? How typical of the city in its idea of itself as a “trendsetter”? Jim, double thumbs up. The kind of in the asphalt/street built in flashing lights like they have in Pasadena is required! Money better spent than colored crosswalks that are only viewed best by helicopter not by walking. Lives better than illusion. The city already self congratulates itself enough already.

No we do NOT need a pet burial ordinance. The City is in our lives too much already IMHO. Let pet owners (notice I said owners, not guardians) decide for themselves how to dispose of their dearly departed. GET OUT OF OUR LIVES.
