The Avenues: Art, Fashion & Design District, one of two business improvement districts in West Hollywood, has rebranded itself as the West Hollywood Design District.
“Design is the intersection for shelter, fashion, food, art and beauty and we have the most interesting mix of those industries right here in West Hollywood,” said Darren Gold, chair of the WHDD board. “The new name conveys where we are and what we are about in a clear and concise way. Our mission is to heighten West Hollywood Design District’s prominence and elevate the consumer experience both online and in person.”
The newly branded district encompasses those parts of Robertson and Beverly Boulevards that are within West Hollywood as well as Melrose Avenue. It includes more than 200 high-end shops, galleries, restaurants and salons. Among them are internationally known businesses such as Alberta Ferretti, Balenciaga and Christian Louboutin.
West Hollywood’s other business improvement district encompasses businesses on Sunset Boulevard. An effort to create a business improvement district for the west end of Santa Monica Boulevard has stalled because of lack of interest by some businesses there.
Don’t be ignorant @Riley
“Design is the intersection for shelter, fashion, food, art and beauty…”
So, by “shelter” does that mean the new homeless shelter could go there?
Where is the South end of Santa Monica? East? West? But South end.
