West Hollywood Chamber Announces Creative City Nominees

The West Hollywood Chamber of Commerce has announced 18 contenders for six categories in the 29th annual Creative City Awards competition.

Winners will be determined in a vote of Chamber members and honored on November 14 at an event at the London West Hollywood. Nominees for the awards, which focus on innovation in business, are:

CREATIVE START UP AWARD
Awarded to a business that is less than one year old or is an innovator of a new concept, product or service.

Nominees are: Kitchen 24, Pressed Juicery and Sunset Strip Farmers Market.

CORPORATE INNOVATION AWARD
Awarded to a business in any category that has shown creative innovation its business model.

Nominees are: Pink Taco, Soul Cycle and Sur.

CREATIVE COMMUNICATION AWARD
Awarded to a business in the tele-visual arts, technology, social media and graphic design.

Nominees are: HBO, SJ Linking Systems and Vanity Girl Hollywood.

WEHO BEACON AWARD
Awarded to a business that attracts visitors to West Hollywood or caters to the visitor market.

Nominees are: The Abbey, Bikes & Hikes and the Viper Room.

JOHN CHASE ART & DESIGN AWARD
Awarded to a business in creative arts categories such as art, performance art, fashion, design or architecture.

Nominees include: Ric Abramson, Christopher Guy and Kelly Wearstler.

CREATIVE COMMUNITY SERVICES AWARD
Awarded to a business or individual who, working with a non-profit or as a government official, has made a major contribution to the community.

Nominees include: Todd Elliot of Truman & Elliott, Martina Linares of Gilmore Bank and LASC.

The awards ceremony will include dinner, a silent auction and a performance by Lee England, Jr., a classically trained soul violinist. The master of ceremonies will be comedian ANT. ANT is a regular guest on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno and the Tyra Banks show, ANT is the only comedian to appear on all five seasons of NBC’s hit series Last Comic Standing.

The Creative City Awards event is the Chamber’s most important fundraiser. Tickets are $160 per seat and $1,500 for a table of ten. For tickets or sponsorship call (323) 650-2688.
