Sunset Strip Market, a weekly food event and farmers market that takes place Thursday nights in West Hollywood, has added an outdoor movie series and free kids activities to its programming. Each week the market will feature a free film screening outdoors beginning at 8:15 p.m. Seating is provided, but guests are also invited to bring blankets and picnic outdoors while enjoying classic films such as “American Graffiti” on Thursday, June 20 and “Stand By Me” on Thursday, June 27.
Attendees may also pick up dinners from the market’s artisans to enjoy with the movie. Options include grass-fed burgers and barbecue from Farmhouse Kitchen; handmade, natural pizza from Pizza of Venice; Canela Empanadas; crepes from Gourmet Crepes; fish tacos from Larry’s Grill; rotisserie chicken from Gourmet Grill Masters; California oysters from Shuck’s Oyster Bar; hummus and olives from Ari’s Natural Food; farmstead cheeses from Dairy Goddess and many fresh fruit and vegetable options from the market’s farmers, including Shear Rock Farms, Gourmet Specialties, Sun Coast Farms and Summer Harvest.
In addition to the summer movie series, the Market has launched free weekly kids activities. The rotating schedule includes:
- First Thursday of the month: Art workshop.
- Second Thursday: Kid-friendly films and shorts will be showcased.
- Third Thursday: Farm Style Cooking for Kids. The class, hosted by Sarah Seelinger, is a great opportunity for your kids and family to learn more about farm fresh produce and how to prepare meals using farmers’ market ingredients.
- Fourth Thursday: Face painting.
The Market also features live music each week curated by Viper Room talent buyer Dayle Gloria, a featured food truck and a craft beer and wine garden.
