An honorary display will be placed at the Sal Guarriello Veterans’ Memorial at Santa Monica Boulevard and Holloway Drive on Wednesday, which is Patriot Day and National Day of Service and Remembrance. Patriot Day remembers those killed in the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. The community is invited to spend a moment of reflection at the park in their memory.

I knew Sal and he and I had many fascinating chats about many fascinating subjects. He led a very good and full life. We clashed but we laughed a lot too. He always returned my calls.
