The National Take-Back Initiative, encouraging people to safely drop-off unused prescription drugs and syringes to local drop-off boxes, will be held on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department station in West Hollywood is one of 21 LA County sheriff’s stations with a drop-off box, which is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The program, created in 2009 by the LA County Sheriff’s Department, provides a safe and anonymous way for residents to get rid of expired or unused prescription drugs, over-the-counter medications, syringes and other controlled substances.
