Skunk Spray Sickens Vet Hospital Workers
Skunk spray left 10 employees of a West Hollywood veterinary clinic sick on Saturday night, and brought out the fire department and a hazmat crew, according to City News Service.
Firefighters cleared the VCA TLC Animal Hospital after a call was made around 10:50 p.m. The culprit? A dog that messed around with a skunk, according to a Burbank hazmat team. In all, 12 people were checked on at the clinic.

LA PRIDE Parade Named One of SoCal’s Top Three Events
BizBash, a trade publication for the event industry, has ranked LA Pride Parade No. 3 in its list of Southern California’s top 100 events. The Tournament of Roses and Fiesta Broadway were named first and second, respectively, in the Parade, Walk and Holiday Event category.
In 2012, LA PRIDE attracted over 400,000 visitors to West Hollywood, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. Christopher Street West (CSW), a non-profit, volunteer organization, has produced the LA Pride Parade since 1970.

Angels of Change Runway Show Set
The 5th annual 2013 Angels of Change calendar launch and runway show will take place Oct. 27 in Hollywood. The event, which celebrates transgender youth, will feature performances by actress and author Calpernia Addams and comedian Ian Harvie. Twelve young transgender models featured in the Angels of Change calendar will model clothes during a fashion show. A special reception is at 5 p.m. and the show begins at 6 p.m. Angels for Change benefits the Division of Adolescent Medicine of Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and the Center for TransYouth Health and Development. U.S. Rep. Schiff Releases “It Gets Better” Video
U.S. Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Burbank) has released his own “It Gets Better” video, part of a larger campaign in which people from President Barack Obama to comedian Stephen Colbert have created short video messages to express their opposition to bullying among students. Schiff is co-sponsor of several bills to curtail harassment and educate students about bullying. It Gets Better is an Internet-based project that aims to prevent student bullying and suicide through encouraging, supportive videos.
