Joshua Schare has joined the City of West Hollywood as Public Information Officer.
Schare’s career include working as director of development and communications for Lamp Community on L.A.’s Skid Row, which provides housing to homeless people with mental illness. He also was a senior staffer at the labor union SEIU overseeing public service communications efforts. He worked at the L.A. Gay and Lesbian Center spearheading marketing and outreach in LGBT health, HIV and AIDS services, senior and youth services. Most recently, Schare managed a large-scale branding strategy project for the Motion Picture and Television Fund, which provides essential medical and social services to thousands of entertainment industry workers. Schare has a B.A. in politics from UC Santa Cruz and an MBA in marketing from Claremont Graduate University’s Drucker School of Management.
Schare will report to Assistant City Manager Sam Baxter and Lisa Belsanti, acting manager of the city’s Public Information Office.
