Ho, Ho, Ho! Larry Block’s Poem Steals Monday’s WeHo Council Show

‘Twas the week before Christmas, when all thro’ the chamber,

Not a council member was stirring, as the public speakers got tamer;

Then Larry Block took the floor, to offer holiday wishes,

The WeHo council looked on,  most cold as fishes;

But Block provoked laughter as he began to opine,

With a holiday poem we’ve now posted online.

Well done, just back in town and sorry to miss this live in person. Great way to bring up the issues that are central to West Hollywood and hats off to Larry for having the courage and creativity to stand up for whats right and wrong in our city.

Larry Block , in an amusing and fun poetic way, in two minutes expressed some of the exasperations many of
us we long-time WE HO residents of this amazing city feel !Go Larry, GO !!

The creative city needs a creative thinker. What a fun effort to bring laughter and light to the problems we face- I agree above, best public comment of the year..

I’m sorry I left the meeting before the second comment session. I would have liked to have been there in person to see the individual Councilpersons faces while Larry read his poem. Very creative way to highlight their failings Larry!

Larry Block is a breath of fresh air at those stuffy council meetings. He has plenty of substance even when his lines don’t rhyme. And way to go, “Romanoff”, who says there’s no such thing as a free lunch in this town?

Very funny and I think sadly true… . I don’t know Larry Block, and have never been to a city council meeting but he seems like an interesting chap who speaks the truth in a very professional manner. While I don’t normally vote in the city council elections..this type of approach has me listening.

A friend shared this with me and I was very impressed. The Creative City is being creative! I don’t attend the council meetings and am not familiar with all the issues but its very impressive to have someone care and challenge the status quo like this is a polite professional manner.

Mr. Romanoff, lets go to lunch on me. We have never met so not sure how you know my substance or what I think. I’m an open minded guy, not like the haters around here, and willing to engage people who disagree. I’ve also had an epic life, opened my store to have ‘something to do’ after losing my eyesight and ability to drive, and have lots of depth. So heres myself, man up and email me or call.. Unless your afraid to engage and have no substance. Alfredo, we are neighbors and share the same walls. I objected to… Read more »
