Uninsured and worried? Whether you’re more concerned about being uninsured now or paying for a plan once you enroll (or both), you may be able to get your questions answered by logging onto Twitter on Jan. 30. The City of West Hollywood will host a live chat, using the hashtag #Wehochat, at noon about the Affordable Care Act and Covered California, the state health insurance exchange.
The chat, which will be about an hour long, will include representatives from two health-related organizations: Juan Pasillas of AIDS Project Los Angeles (APLA) and Riana King of Young Invincibles, an organization devoted to encouraging civic engagement by young people. Pasillas is also a certified enrollment counselor through Covered California. Open enrollment in health insurance plans through Covered California continues through Mar. 31.
Next week’s live chat is part of the city’s “Uncovered” campaign, which is meant to reach uninsured or underinsured young adults. The #Weho chat aims to reach people ages 18 to 34 with information about enrollment, according to a city news release.
After the chat ends, it will be posted on the city’s website. The city also says it is working on plans to host more #Wehochat live discussions this year.
To participate in the health insurance #Wehochat, go to www.weho.org/wehochat or www.twubs.com/wehochat at noon on Thursday, Jan. 30. Alternately, you can follow the hashtag #Wehochat on Twitter.
