The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is moving its 12-day-old search for a murder suspect known to frequent West Hollywood to the Hollywood Hills.
The department announced it would be sending 50 additional personnel, both from within its own ranks as well as from other local agencies in the hunt for 54-year-old Oscar Bridges in the hills above the Greek Theater and Runyon Canyon Park, as well as questioning local merchants and motel managers.
Bridges, described as a registered sex offender with an “extensive” criminal history, is wanted in connection with the stabbing death of Robert Brewer, a 21-year-old Texan, on the morning of Jan. 23 in a motel room in the 10400 block of South Vermont Avenue, according to Sheriff’s detectives.
Detectives said Bridges, also known as “Rick,” was known to frequent motels in the Hollywood and West Hollywood areas. He is described as black, 6 feet 2 and 180 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair he wears in dreadlocks.
