WeHo Suspends (Some) Parking Rules on President’s Day

West Hollywood residents and visitors who wonder why anyone would celebrate President’s Day (also known as George Washington’s Birthday for you history buffs) now have a reason. The city is suspending enforcement of parking meters, towing of cars parked on busy streets during peak traffic hours and ticketing of cars in areas where streets typically are swept on Mondays. Permit parking rules and other parking regulations will be enforced on Monday. And on Tuesday it’s all back to the usual. Take advantage of it while you can.

I 100% agree with SL. They do as little as possible when it comes to parking and the city brings in millions of dollars on the backs of residents and people visiting. The 2 hour time frame length and new extended enforcement hours will seriously damage our city in the long run. Someone got greedy along the way. Just 10 years ago there weren’t even meters. People will stop coming to Weho. Too bad they dont understand this.

I’m curious as to why the City of Weho doesn’t program the meters to let people know that the meters aren’t being enforced. These meters have that capability, and it just seems the City out to screw anyone they can through nickel-and-diming.
