The City of West Hollywood’s Social Services Division is hosting a series of “WeHo Cares Community Pop-Ups” throughout 2014. The next community Pop-Up will be focused on healthcare, with the aim of sharing information with community members about the open-enrollment deadline on March 31 to sign up for coverage through Covered California under the Affordable Care Act (ACA), alternatively referred to as “Obamacare.”
The upcoming WeHo Cares Community Pop-Up will take place on Tuesday from 3 to 5 p.m. at West Hollywood Library, 625 N. San Vicente Blvd. south of Santa Monica. Additional Pop-Ups will be scheduled throughout 2014.
Community Pop-Ups are conducted at highly trafficked locations throughout t West Hollywood to provide community members with opportunities to learn more about social services, transit options and other city services, programs and volunteer opportunities.
The focus on healthcare enrollment for the upcoming community Pop-Up is the latest step in the city’s “Uncovered” outreach campaign, which is using targeted strategies and edgy creative materials to engage people in West Hollywood with accessible information about healthcare changes under the Affordable Care Act/Covered California.
Covered California’s mission is to increase the number of Californians with health insurance, improve the quality of health care for all Californians, reduce health care coverage costs and make sure California’s diverse population has fair and equal access to quality health care. of the alleged 5 million who have signed up, how many are people who lost their health insurance coverage due to the ‘substandard plan’ supposition? how many of the sign-ups have paid their monthly premiums?
