[dropcap]B[/dropcap]ig fences are screening big projects from view along Santa Monica Boulevard these days. There’s the Domain apartment and retail project at North Formosa and the Walgreens project at Havenhurst, which will include apartments and other stores besides the drug store. And then there’s Movietown Plaza at Poinsettia, where Avalon Bay Communities is building 370 apartments and 32,300 square feet of retail space. That project is expected to be finished in 2016.
A curious WEHOville reader took a look behind the long green fence at Movietown Plaza at 7300 Santa Monica Blvd. last week and shared the photos posted on the pages that follow.
@ Romanoff LOL!! I hate to see a good parking lot go. sniff sniff.
Yes Riley, the loss of that parking lot is a travesty.
All that open space…gone. Pity. It would have made a great park or city plaza. The density is going to strangle the eastside.
Nice to see that they are recycling the wood product from this project.
Que …Why do the foundations sit so long on these demolished developments like the walgreens project or the large project at La Cienega and Sunset.
Is this a holdup at the city level?
Can these projects be wrapped in something more attractive during construction ?
