booksNot everyone has a Kindle or a Nook or a full bookcase. For those folks, the City of West Hollywood and Friends of the West Hollywood Library will be giving away free books Wednesday at the City Council Chambers and at the Plummer Park Community Center.

The books are meant for those who are non-readers or infrequent readers. There is a broad range of titles, including “100 Best-Loved Poems” and “Tales of the City.” The event is part of World Book Night, in which 25,000 volunteers from Kodiak to Key West will give away half a million free books in more than 6,000 towns and cities across America.

West Hollywood’s book giveaway will take place from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at both the Council Chambers, at 625 N. San Vicente Blvd., south of Santa Monica, and Plummer Park. Free parking, with validation, will be available in the five-story public parking garage at West Hollywood Park and at the Plummer Park lots.

Additional information about World Book Night in West Hollywood, including a list of books that are planned to be distributed, is posted on the City’s website at: www.weho.org/arts.

Yes, – I have books and some other things to contribute. Maybe we should have a West Hollywood give-away day!
