The CMG Short Film Festival, now in its third year, has opened the “call for entries” phase for its 2014 festival. The festival seeks films and web series of interest to LGBT audiences that are under 30 minutes long.

CMG Film FestivalScreening dates for 2014 are Sept. 20-21. The festival will take place in the beautiful West Hollywood City Council Chambers at 625 N. San Vicente Blvd., south of Santa Monica. Free parking will be available in the adjacent five-story parking garage.

West Hollywood is a co-sponsor of the festival, all proceeds from which are donated to AIDS Walk Los Angeles.

Films submitted need not be new this year, according to Festival Director Jim Hoffman. Hoffman added that even though the presenting group is called “California Men’s Gatherings,” filmmakers can be male or female. The festival welcomes multiple submissions by the same filmmaker.

There is a bias in favor of local filmmakers, Hoffman said, if only because they can attend the Q&A sessions after the screenings. Last year, over a dozen of the films in the festival’s four programs were by local directors and featured local talent.

More information and entry forms is available online.
