Thursday Night in Boystown: Attack at The Abbey, Handcuffing by P.U.M.P.

These days, in the world of Hollywood faux celebrities, they say there’s no bad publicity.

That may explain why Ken Todd, husband of reality TV celebutante Lisa Vanderpump and her partner in the newly opened P.U.M.P. Lounge, was in the street last night shooting his own video of sheriff’s deputies restraining a man who allegedly had attacked people at The Abbey down the street.

The incident occurred around 11:30 p.m., prime time for bar hoppers in West Hollywood. The man, who the Sheriff’s Department has identified as Carlos Moxon, was said by onlookers to have been biting and shoving people at The Abbey.

Moxon then ran north on Robertson Boulevard, chased by Abbey employees, among others. Onlookers pinned Moxon to the ground in a traffic lane in front of P.U.M.P. while he let out what one viewer described as blood-curdling screams.

The P.U.M.P. crowd, a gathering of mostly heterosexual reality TV stars and the people who love them, stood by and watched as deputies from the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station drove up. The deputies restrained Moxon, tied him into a portable cot and took him to jail.

Moxon was charged with felony assault and also a misdemeanor assault. Videos of Moxon, and perhaps Todd’s own, may go viral as the day wears on, adding to the publicity P.U.M.P. already received this week when new papers were filed in a lawsuit alleging shady conduct by Todd and Vanderpump in securing the lounge’s site.
